Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation Inc., is governed by the Board of Trustees, which is composed of eight (8) members, with the Foundation’s president serving asanex-officio member.

The Board of Trustees is generally responsible for planning, strategizing for the Foundation’s programs and restoration projects as well as for monitoring budgets, expenditures and appropriation policies and guidelines. The Board of Trustees performs its duties as described in the Foundation’s Bylaws and through an Executive Committee, which is also composed of members of the Board of Trustees.

Jaime C. Laya
Chairman Emeritus

Jaime C. Laya was the Founding Chairman of Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation, Inc. who led the foundation from 2013 – 2018. He is concurrently Chairman and President of Philtrust Bank, Independent Director of Ayala Land, Inc., Manila Water Company, Inc., GMA Network, Inc., Philippine AXA Life Insurance Co., Inc., and other corporations; and Trustee of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, St. Paul University in Quezon City, Ayala Foundation, Inc., Fundación Santiago, Museo dela Salle, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Yuchengco Museum, and other educational, charitable and cultural institutions.

He writes a weekly column on Philippine life and culture in the Manila Bulletin. His career has been in the academe, in public service, and professional practice. Among others, hehas served as Minister of the Budget; Minister of Education, Culture and Sports; Chairman of the Monetary Board and Governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines; and Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

He was the founding Administrator of the Intramuros Administration He holds a B.S.B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of the Philippines, M.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. (financial management) from Stanford University.

The Advisory Council of Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation, Inc.

The Board of Trustees may invite representatives of national agencies and other public and private sector organisations tobe members of the Advisory Council. Their role is to give guidance and advise in order to help ETFFI achieve its goals and fulfil its mission.
